THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

My sweet boy, Donnie– this is what it’s all about…..being a mom to my most precious boy. Donnie was born on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:37am. Donnie was 7 lbs, 12 oz and 21.25” long. I was exactly 39 weeks pregnant when I gave birth to my son. Crazy because my OB was going to induce on November 10 or 11 (I forget which day) because I was having all-over, full-body itching…..the itching was HORRENDOUS! I literally was scratching to where my skin would bleed! My OB thought I might have cholestasis which is a liver condition that occurs in late pregnancy, but I tested negative for it. Well, my liver enzymes were up a little, but not high enough to indicate that I had cholestasis. I didn’t want to take any risks though, so I agreed that inducing was the best option.

But my little Donnie was like, “NOPE!!! You’re not going to induce! I’m going to come out on my own terms!” And so my sweet Donnie DID! My water broke around 10pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. It was so weird because I was having trouble getting to sleep and then I finally did maybe around 9:30pm and then I woke up around 10pm feeling very “weird”. And then it happened! My water broke as I was walking to my bathroom! It was such as crazy sensation! It was like all my inside just got flushed out!– like the sky just dropped 10 gallons of rain slush! And here’s the “yummy part”……my pittie, Thumpie, was in my bedroom with me and he saw my placenta splash to the floor and he rushed over and gobbled most of it up! OMG! What??? Yeah, delicious. Well, Thumpie thought so. My sweet little Thumpie isn’t alive anymore. Thumpie passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on July 16, 2019. That’s another story for another day. But back to the GREAT NEWS about my water breaking! Donnie was on his way! I was sooooo excited and soooooo nervous. I called my friend, Sharon and told her my water broke and she came to my house, picked me up and off to the hospital we went!

I felt like things were happening in slow-motion and fast-motion at the same time! This was my first pregnancy, so I had nothing to compare it to. And let me tell you….I was freggin’ HUGE! I was literally ALL belly!

Ok, I’m going to have to finish up with the next part of the story in the next blog post.

To be continued!
